Lian Li has produced globally award-winning cases like the OD11. Lian Li has revealed the new LanCool II for under 100$. This case is particularly unique as it is the most aesthetically pleasing with tons of functionality features. Cases under $100 usually provided functionality over aesthetics. Lian Li made the LanCool II packing tons of functionality without compromising over the aesthetics.
Lian-Li LianCool II: the coolest looking mid-tower case under $100
The Lian-Li has ditched their aluminum frame body for steel frame body. The case has 2 tempered glass magnetic side panels with hinges for hassle-free installation of the parts. There are flip shrouds at the bottom of the case for easy access to the PSU and hard drives/SSDs. The shrouds have cutouts design for the ventilation for the PSU and the GPU. Lian-Li has also provided an extra SSD mounting bracket on the shroud for additional storage mount.
The front of the case has a perforated design for the RGB illumination as well as airflow. The Dust Filter is uniquely designed so that it doesn’t block the RGB at the front of the case. The Front, I/O selection, is relatively simple, 2 USB A ports, 1 restart and power button, RGB color button, A headphone microphone combo jack, and a USB C cutout. Lian Li hasn’t included the USB C as they are selling the USB C port as an add-on. The USB C cutout has a rubber cover on it — an ARGB prong powers the RGB strip at the front for lighting sync with the motherboard.
The mid-tower case supports ATX and EATX motherboard. Airflow in the case is adequate. The front of the case has modular mounting brackets that support 3x 120 mm fans or 2 x 140mm fans, the back of the case supports a single 1x120mm fan, and the top of the case has a wide variety of support from 120mm fans to the 140mm fans. The shroud above the PSU also gets a 2x 120mm fan support for better ventilation to the PSU chamber as well as the GPU.
The case supports water cooling as the front supports a 360mm radiator, the back supports a 120mm radiator. The top of the case also has radiator support, and the case also has a reservoir mounting support. The HDD bay can be moved (horizontally) at the bottom to support the 360mm radiator at the front. The case comes with 3 dust filters at the top, front, and bottom of the case.
Lian Li built a cable management bracket beside the motherboard for re-routing and hiding the cable. The back of the case as the cable management route and panel. It is a blessing for people who don’t know how to cable-manage and hide their tangled wiring. The panels are good at hiding the case removing the eyesore on a double-sided tempered glass case. The PSU and the hard drive are hidden under the shroud with a cleaner and cable-free look. The hard drive bay can be upgraded to the hot-swappable bay by adding its optional accessories. The RGB strips can be inserted in the shroud and kept well hidden in the side of the case. For In-depth review on this case check TweakTown’s full review. TL;DR Here is a video by HardwareCanucks.
