Health is wealth. And for tech-lovers like us, our laptop’s health is more important than ours. So, it is a must that you take good care of your LAPTOP. (We don’t care about you. Sorry, not sorry.)

With time, our brand-new laptop starts struggling to even run basic programs. To say that’s irritating would be an understatement.

While there could be millions of reasons for your laptop to not work as good as before, here is a list of things I have made that you can do to improve and maintain its performance. Prevention is better than cure 😉 (*3rd grade flashbacks*)
  • Clear the startup programs:
There may be number of programs running in the background even if we don’t see it in the taskbar.

Right-click the taskbar and select Task Manager. Head to the Startup tab.

Disable any programs that you know you don’t need to run.

You’re welcome.
  • Scan for Viruses
Yeah, yeah, you’ve heard it thousand times. But admit it, you never do it. Ever.

If your computer is always slow for no apparent reason, there may be some hidden malicious software, commonly know as Malware, running in the background.

The solution to this is to install antivirus software. (Yes, they work.) There are many free antiviruses available like Avast, AVG. Remember, even if your laptop is not slow, having an antivirus installed won’t do any harm.

Shield yourself. Or in this case, your laptops.
  • Uninstall Programs that you no longer use
There might be many programs which we no longer use. But they take up the huge space of our system.

So, it’s better getting rid of them. Once and for all.

Here are the steps if you aren’t aware.

Go to Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall a Programs
  • Keep your software Updated
Keeping your software up to date is good for security. It improves the system’s performance too. You know why Windows automatically sends you notification updates? Because it’s important.

Or just be smart and check the available updates.

Go to Start > Settings > Updates & Security

You’re welcome again.
  • Keep it clean
You brush your teeth, but what about your laptop?

No, no, no—no spilling water on your device. [But if you do (accidentally of course), Click here)

Physical cleanliness is also very important to maintain the performance.

Excessive amounts of dust and debris may build up around interior fans and components which may result in dysfunctionality of cooling system and overheating of the laptop. It’s essential to clean up those cooling fans and get rid of the dust occasionally. Your laptop performs better and gets a chance to breathe properly.

After all, it’s not just you who deserves fresh air.

Please note that these are the basic tips. And if you know some more, keep adding. We want our LAPTOP to be in its best form. (*keeps dreaming).

Thank you. I never scan for viruses. I think I'll do that now. Along with other tips ☺

Windows update is 💩,
It doesn't improve performance rather it slows down computer. #experienced
