Everything on PlayStation's 17th September Digital Event

  • Moderator

Firstly, let's get the elephant out of the room, prices of  both PS5 all-digital and normal PS5 have been announced.  The consoles will be available on November 12th for some select countries and others will have to wait until November 19th.

The rumors and leaks were very much accurate. The $499 one is the ultimate PS5 Sony if offering on launch. For Nepal, we can't really be sure of the price but i did contact some dealers on Bishal Bazaar, Kathmandu who predict that the normal PS5 will likely cost over Nrs. 72,000 (shipping cost+dealer profit) whereas  they predicted that the digital edition will cost slightly above Nrs. 59,000 . Start saving big if you guys want the console on launch.

Now, let's dive into the games that were announced at the digital conference:

So um, Final Fantasy 16 got announced! It actually did! This was such a casual reveal by Square Enix that even after the title drop, i was confused with the reveal. Games in the FF series are always revealed with glorious Cinematic trailers but this was different. The game-play trailer was nothing special to get anyone expect the FF fans hyped for it though.

Release Date: Unknown

Platforms: PS5 and PC

  • Spider-man Miles Morales :

Impressive and beautiful! The gameplay looked more like a PS5 tech demo which was probably intentional from Sony. The particle effects, cinematic-like gameplay and smooth combat is certainly not possible with the old PS4. Developers Insomniac have made an statement for the PS4 version of Miles Morales , don't expect the same graphical and gameplay fidelity shown in the demo. Expectations are really high for this spin-off Spider-man game after the fabulous previous entry.

Release Date:  2020

Platforms: PS4, PS5

It is finally real ! We Harry Potter fans have waited long enough for a proper open world Potter-verse. Enough with Lego and Quidditch games, finally its a full-fledged RPG where we can create our own wizard, enroll in Hogwarts, get sorted into a house and write our wizard/witch's legacy. But don't expect Harry Potter characters to show up as the Hogwarts Legacy is set in the 19th Century. We might get a cameo from Professor Dumbledore though.

Release Date: 2021

Platforms: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PC

  • Call of Duty Cold War:

Another year, another Call of Duty game. This annual franchise is a big-seller and Activision will never stop milking it. Cold War doesn't look much different than Modern Warfare but the campaign this time around seems promising with dialogue choices and multiple ending. The 1980s cold war setting is also exciting. Also the free alpha is available for PS4 players starting tomorrow.

Release Date: November 13, 2020

Platforms: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PC

The second trailer for Resident Evil 8 is here but this has made things even more weird and creepy. Girl picking berries and our guy getting thwarted by S.W.A.T ?Village is being made exclusively for next generation of consoles on the upgraded RE Engine.

Release Date: 2021

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC

Bluepoint Games are the masters at creating remakes and remasters. Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection, God of War collection, Shadow of Colossus Remake, MGS Collection and many others. Looking at the gameplay footage, the game looks nice graphically but will be able to remake the DS-combat system perfectly? Let's hope this will be worth the wait.

Release Date: November 12

Platform: PS5 exclusive

Sony finished off the event in style with a short teaser of the next installment to the God of War franchise. We don't have any details except the fact that we will be diving more into ancient Norse Mythology.

Release Date: 2021

Platform: PS5 exclusive

GOW trailer is insane!!!! 🤩

I just saw, ps5 exclusive? 😢

Sucks. But i hope the price will go down at least $80 by mid-late 2021 so that we can afford the PS5 here.

Excited for COD: MW Cold War. Looks amazing.

I'm gonna try out the alpha tomorrow and if it does have enough differentiating features than MW, might think about buyin it though getting COD games are never worth the money as the dev support ends in like less than a year
