Facts you didn't know about keyboard

Space Bar

Ever wondered why spacebar key is so long? This is because fast typing is done without looking at the keyboard. It makes the user easier to find the space bar key without even looking at it because of its long size.

Enter keys

We can see two enter keys at the keyboard (Some keyboards might only have one enter key). Both of the enter keys are of same use. But the enter key on the left side helps to jump into the next line easily whereas the enter key on the right side helps in performing calculations while using calculator.

QWERTY

We can't see keyboards in ABCD format. Previously, when typewriters were invented, the keys were arranged on an alphabetical format (ABCD format). People used to type so fast that it's mechanical arms used to get damaged. Hence, to slow them down, it is placed in QWERTY format.

Previously Keys were arranged in DVORAK style for ergonomic edge, but QWERTY took over it quickly.

Is it named DVORAK for alphabetical order or is it another format?

It was just a name given for the keyboard layout and because it was invented by August Dvorak.

It had majorly used keys in the middle row for easiness and looked something like this.

I think because some compact laptop keyboards have the F(number) and the multimedia option in the same key.

some keyboard uses f2 key as volume down key. So when you actually need to press f2 key for maybe renaming the file, you have to press fn key and f2 key at the same time.

Laptops have limited space for keyboard keys. For some operations (mostly multimedia related such as Volume up/down, Mute/Unmute, Previous/Next), it can be provided with an extra Fn key with the combination of other keys which usually is defined in the keyboard. Therefore, to provide this extra functionality or shortcut with the keys is probably why laptop keyboards have such extra keys.
